Founder, Agent
With over 40 years of experience, Gary has built a reputation as a trusted leader in the Central Indiana insurance market. Over the years, he has served in many roles, including district manager, trainer, and national manager, gaining a well-rounded perspective on both the industry and the people it serves. In 2007, he founded Compass Insurance Group with a mission to serve the unique needs of the senior population and the baby boomer generation.
Today, Gary continues to bring his deep knowledge of Medicare, ACA health plans, life insurance, long-term care coverage, and annuities to clients, while also mentoring the next generation—his daughters, Heather and Ashley—as they carry on the family-owned business.
Beyond his professional work, Gary is active in the community, serving on several local boards and the plan commission. He and his wife, Michelle, have been married since 1985 and raised three children—Matt, Heather, and Ashley. They are now proud grandparents to Mason and Lauren.
Agent
Ashley has been a licensed agent since 2017 and has developed extensive expertise in the Central Indiana insurance market. She specializes in the full spectrum of Medicare options, ACA health plans, life insurance, long-term care coverage, and helping clients roll their 401(k) into annuities. After graduating from Indiana University, Ashley began her career with an Insurance Marketing Organization, where she gained valuable experience working directly with insurance carriers and learning the ins-and-outs of the senior, ACA, life, and annuity markets.
In addition to serving clients, Ashley is active in the community through several local boards and volunteer work. She and her husband, Andrew, have been married since 2020 and enjoy spending time with their two dogs, Gus and Ruby.
Agent
After 14 years as a teacher, Heather brought her love of education into the family-owned Compass Insurance Group, where she is quickly building her expertise in Medicare, ACA health plans, life insurance, long-term care coverage, and annuities. As part of the next generation of Compass, Heather works alongside her father, Gary, and sister, Ashley, to carry on the family's commitment to helping clients feel confident and informed in navigating their insurance options.
Heather has been married to her husband, Jared, a firefighter in Shelbyville, for 15 years. Together, they stay busy supporting their twins, Lauren and Mason, in piano, softball, cross country, baseball, soccer, and basketball.
Office Administrator
Carrie joined Compass Insurance Group in August 2018 and has played an integral role in the growth of the agency. A licensed agent, she primarily serves as our administrative assistant and customer service representative, making her the go-to person when clients call or stop in with questions. Carrie is highly knowledgeable about all of our products and services, ensuring every client receives the personal attention and guidance they deserve.
Beyond her work at Compass, Carrie is a devoted mother and grandmother—known affectionately as “Mimi”—to her four grandchildren.
